I.

History will say that World's Crown shut down in 2171 at what was the start of the United States' second cold war with Russia. After decades of being the crowning jewel of modern society and being at the front for stemming peaceful relations between the two countries, it became ground zero for a cold war that lasted well over 50 years. Since that time, the once great city has stood abandoned at the top of the world, off limits to travelers from both countries.

Understand then the sincerity for which I write this, knowing full well the implications of this testimonial. Despite this, I have found it imperative that the truth be made know; that it was not war or terrorism that shut down flights to the city. I have gone there and seen it for myself. I no longer fear the repercussions for saying this. If I wake up tomorrow in a cell, stripped from the records of any name or history then I pray it is for the best, so long as you heed these words. I beg you, grab your family and take the first shuttle that you can off this rock and never look back. In my investigation of the city of World's Crown I discovered the truth those decades of lies and false wars attempted to bury; and through my own foolish acts it has been……reawakened.
This is a rough draft of an introduction to one of my next novels. I have no estimates as to when I plan on finishing this. At the moment I am biting off more than I can probably chew with 4 other novels in the works. This particular story is a dedication to my favorite writer H.P. Lovecraft and is a continuation on his story At the Mountains of Madness.

As a rough draft I should probably make the disclaimer that it is likely to undergo serious changes before this is finalized but I felt like getting it out here anyways in hopes that it would motivate me to keep building the story.
